Agartala: The independent film landscape in Agartala is set to receive another new addition with “Hatela Gang,” an upcoming thriller drama short film from PRAYAS FILM PRODUCTIONS. The project brings together an experienced production team and an ensemble of actors for a story designed around drama and suspense.

The film is being directed by Sapling Chakraborty, who is responsible for translating the project’s concept into a short cinematic format. With thriller at the centre of its genre, the film is expected to use suspense, character interactions and dramatic situations as important elements of its storytelling.

Janardhan Roy is the producer of Hatela Gang. The production team is working with the director and cast to develop the project in Agartala.

The film’s ensemble cast includes Pranab Kr Nath, Ankur Roy, Rinku Roy, Puja Deb, Pradip Paul, Manidipa Roy, Ranjan Roy, Moumita Bhattacharya, Mintu Roy and Biswajit Sarkar.

The participation of multiple performers gives the project a broad acting ensemble and creates scope for different characters to contribute to the film’s narrative. Their collective performances will form an important part of the dramatic presentation.

The emergence of Hatela Gang also reflects the growing role of short films in regional filmmaking. For independent directors and actors, the format provides a way to develop focused stories while experimenting with genre and cinematic presentation.

Agartala continues to provide a creative environment for regional filmmakers and performers, and projects such as this help bring local production teams and talent into the wider independent cinema conversation.

Under the banner of PRAYAS FILM PRODUCTIONS, with Sapling Chakraborty as director and Janardhan Roy as producer, Hatela Gang is currently being developed as a thriller drama short film.

Further announcements regarding the film’s storyline, release schedule and viewing platform are expected as the project moves closer to completion.
