Varun Kaushik was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He later relocated to Mumbai, where he began building his professional career in the entertainment industry. His initial work included television reality shows produced for established television networks.

Varun Kaushik has been associated with commercial productions involving brands including Samsung, MG Hector, Godrej Interio, Mahindra, Men of Platinum, Dalda and Luminous Solar Panels. His association with these productions forms part of his professional experience in commercial filmmaking and brand communication.

The next stage of his career is feature cinema. Kaushik is making his feature-film debut with the upcoming Hindi film MIYAAD, scheduled for 2027. For the project, he serves as the writer, director and producer.

MIYAAD represents a move from commercial and short-form visual content into feature-length filmmaking. As writer and director, Kaushik is involved in developing and directing the film’s narrative, while his role as producer places him on the production side of the project as well.

His feature-film debut comes after years of experience in television and advertising. These earlier areas of work have exposed him to different production structures, creative requirements and forms of visual storytelling.
