New Delhi: Petrol and diesel rates have been released on 26 February. Like every day, even today at 6 am the oil companies updated the new prices. In the capital Delhi, petrol is being sold at ₹ 94.77 per liter and diesel at ₹ 87.67 per liter. If you are planning to fill the tank today, then definitely check the latest rate in your city before leaving home.
Fuel prices in India are decided at the central level. While deciding the prices, many economic factors like international crude oil rates, position of the rupee against the dollar and taxes are taken into consideration. After this, all diesel retailers and consumers have to follow the rates issued. This is the reason why sometimes prices rise and sometimes there is relief.
Talking about major cities, petrol is ₹ 105.45 per liter in Kolkata, ₹ 103.54 in Mumbai and ₹ 100.80 per liter in Chennai. Whereas petrol was recorded at ₹ 107.50 per liter in Hyderabad and ₹ 104.62 per liter in Jaipur. Petrol has reached ₹ 95.05 with a slight increase in Noida.
Diesel prices also differ according to cities. It is ₹90.03 in Mumbai, ₹92.02 in Kolkata and ₹92.39 per liter in Chennai. Diesel is being sold at ₹95.70 per liter in Hyderabad and ₹96.18 per liter in Thiruvananthapuram.
