Business: Now another big step has been taken under the initiative of the Central Government to make the country capable of sustainable and green energy sources. In fact, the country’s first battery-based cargo ship is going to be ready soon and it will be launched into the sea by 2026. This ship with a capacity of about two thousand tons is being built in Mumbai.
Union Minister gave information about the ship
Union Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that a diesel-electric type ship will be built through this project. Electricity will be generated on the basis of diesel and stored in batteries. This battery will help in propelling the ship. This type of technology is being adopted for the first time in India. Till now this technology was used only in small ships in India. This new cargo ship will be completely manufactured in the country.
This special ship is being prepared by a company called SSR
Sanjeev K Aggarwal, Director (Of Operation) of SSR Marine Private Limited, a company manufacturing battery-based cargo ships, said that the country’s first battery-based cargo ship will be ready soon and it will also be launched in the sea by 2026.
