Business: India’s talks on free trade agreements are ongoing with countries like America, European Union, New Zealand, Oman, Peru and Chile. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal gave this information at the CII Partnership Summit 2025 on Friday.

Andhra Mandapam will be built on the lines of Bharat Mandapam
Goyal also said that India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) is ready to develop a world-class convention center in collaboration with the state government. The proposed Andhra Mandapam will be built on the lines of Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

Emphasis on reducing trade barriers globally
The minister said reducing trade barriers globally will help promote free flow of goods, services and capital. India has already implemented free trade agreements with countries like UAE, Australia and EFTA, a grouping of four European countries. Goyal said the Center has removed 42,000 compliances and abolished 1,500 laws to boost ease of doing business.
