A big update has finally come out regarding the sleeper version of Vande Bharat, which is giving a new identity to the country’s most premium journey. After years of waiting and postponement of the launch date several times, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has confirmed that this luxury sleeper train will be launched in December next month. This means that the passengers’ dream of comfortable, fast and hi-tech train travel is now going to come true.
According to a report, Ashwini Vaishnav said that some minor problems were found in the testing of the first rake of Vande Bharat sleeper train. Therefore, it was advised to make some changes related to bogie, seats and passenger convenience. Now work on all these reforms is going on at a fast pace. The Railway Minister said that the changes may be small, but we are taking them very seriously, because our aim is to provide comfortable travel to the passengers. He also said that this train should be a great train for the coming generations, so nothing will be rushed.
First rake returned to BEML
BEML, which is manufacturing Vande Bharat sleeper trains, has confirmed that the prototype rake has returned to them for retrofitting. Several rounds of testing and trials of the train were conducted under the supervision of RDSO and Commissioner of Railway Safety. According to a BEML official, this is a prototype, so it is natural that in-depth testing will be done on all safety and comfort standards. All suggested changes are being made.
New standards of safety and comfort
The Railway Ministry, in a letter sent to RDSO, said that several important changes will be made in the future rakes, such as arc fault detection device for fire safety, new location of AC duct, fire-survival cable for CCTV, third party audit of European fire and crash standards and new position of emergency alarm button. Apart from this, improvements are also being made on issues related to furnishing and workmanship in the train.
