Business: All Omni Bus Association of Tamil Nadu has announced suspension of its bus services in the neighboring state of Kerala. This step has been taken in protest against the heavy fine imposed on the association by the Kerala government. The association said that this decision will be effective from the night of 7th November. This decision may cause problems to hundreds of pilgrims, especially Ayyappa devotees going on Sabarimala pilgrimage.

Serious allegations made against Kerala Transport Department
The association has claimed that the Kerala Transport Department imposed a total fine of Rs 70 lakh and seized more than 30 buses for alleged permit violations. Association President A. Anbalagan said fines ranging from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh per bus have been imposed on buses coming from Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and other places. The Kerala Transport Department suddenly imposed the fine on 7th November, which caused problems to our passengers and us too. He said the sudden action left passengers upset and claimed that bookings of 150 buses were cancelled. The association has appealed to the Tamil Nadu government to immediately intervene and resolve the issue.
