Like every time, this month too, changes in many rules can be seen from March 1. The first of the month is often considered important for policy and administrative changes, which have a direct impact on the daily routine and wallets of common people. Let us know in detail.

SIM binding rules apply

A new rule will be applicable for mobile users under which it will be necessary to link WhatsApp and other messaging apps to the active SIM of the same phone in which the app is running. That is, it will be mandatory to have the relevant SIM in the device on which you are using the app. Also, a six-hour auto log-out rule will be implemented for web or desktop login. That means from now on the web or desktop will automatically log out after 6 hours. Its objective is to stop fake numbers and cyber crimes.

Railway’s old app closed

Railways is shutting down its old UTS app from March 1. After this passengers will not be able to use it. Passengers will now have to use the new Railone app to book unreserved and platform tickets. Due to this, passengers will have to adopt the new system. There may be technical difficulties in the beginning, but Railways says that the new system will be faster, safer and user-friendly. You will also get a lot of discount by booking tickets in this new app.

There may be change in LPG prices

New prices of LPG cylinders are released on the first of every month. In view of the festival of Holi, people are hopeful that this time there may be relief in prices, although the final decision will be clear only after the government’s announcement.

Relief in minimum balance rule

A potentially beneficial change related to banking may also emerge. Some government banks may make changes in the way minimum balance is calculated. Earlier, there was a penalty for reducing the balance on any one day, but now the fee can be decided on the basis of Average Monthly Balance (AMB). That means the average balance of the entire month will be important, which can make it easier for customers to avoid penalties.

Security will increase in UPI payment

To make digital payments more secure, UPI PIN alone will not be sufficient for large online transactions from March 1. Banks may mandate additional security such as biometric or multi-factor authentication for high amount transactions. Additional verification may be applied to large amount transactions. This means that instead of just UPI PIN, biometric or additional authentication may be required. Its purpose is to reduce online fraud and increase the security of users.

Rules regarding fare can be changed

Changes may also be seen in rental rules. Digital registration may be made mandatory for new or renewed rent agreements. Also, emphasis is being laid on provisions like limiting the security deposit to a maximum of two months’ rent and prior notice to the landlord before entry, so that disputes between the tenant and the landlord are reduced.
