Business: Without informing the customer, no bank will be able to disconnect his Fastag account or connection. If a user faces difficulty in uploading the documents for any reason, the concerned bank will contact the customer and help him complete the Know Your Vehicle (KYV) process before disconnecting the connection.
Customers will now be able to lodge complaints and raise queries on the National Highway Helpline number 1033 for any KYV related issues with their issuing bank. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has simplified the KYV process for FASTag users with an aim to enhance convenience and improve the overall customer experience. Indian Highway Management Company Limited (IHMCL) issued revised guidelines on Thursday. According to this, Fastag services will not be stopped for non-compliant vehicles. Apart from this, now under the new rules customers will get enough time to complete the KYV process. Banks will remind customers to complete KYV by sending SMS.
Side photo will not have to be uploaded
Under the new rules, it will not be necessary to upload side photos of cars, jeeps and vans. Now only the front photograph of the number plate and FASTag will have to be uploaded. Moreover, on entering vehicle number, chassis number or mobile number the RC details from the vehicle will be generated automatically. If multiple vehicles are registered on the same mobile number then the customer will be able to select the vehicle for which he wants to complete KYV as per his convenience.
Fastag will not have to be changed again and again
Now you will not have to change Fastag again and again. To keep the services running, now the already issued Fastag tags will remain valid until they become loose or any complaint of misuse is received.
