Mahindra has become the first automobile company in India to adopt this digital innovation. This feature is currently made available in the company’s XEV 9E and BE 6 electric SUVs. Owners of these vehicles will now be able to completely control their car through the Samsung Wallet app, so that they will not need to carry physical keys with them all the time.
Using this digital car key is very easy. The user has to link his Mahindra EV to Samsung Wallet. After this the phone will connect to the car through NFC or ultra-wideband technology. As soon as the user approaches the car, the vehicle will automatically unlock and once inside, the engine can be started with just a tap. The most interesting thing about this feature is that the digital key can be shared with other people also. If the user wishes, they can give access to a family member or friend for a limited time.
This access will automatically expire once the scheduled time is over. If a user loses his phone, he can remotely lock his device or delete data with the help of Samsung Find Service. Along with this, the digital key will also be disabled immediately. Strong security layers like biometric authentication and PIN verification ensure that no unauthorized person can access your car. This feature is completely safe from security point of view.
