Business: In Berlin, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met with Germany’s Economic Affairs and Energy Minister Katharina Reiche on Thursday (October 23). During this, increasing cooperation between India and Germany on green energy, new and emerging technology and defense was discussed between the two leaders. At the same time, he invited German companies to diversify their investments in India by highlighting India’s huge talent potential and improvements made in ease of doing business.

Also during his current visit to Germany, Piyush Goyal participated in a roundtable discussion with CEOs of German Mittelstand (SME) companies and Indian businesses.
The Indian Minister highlighted the key opportunities offered by India in innovation and sustainable manufacturing and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation, trade and investment ties between Indian and German companies, and build stronger industrial partnerships for mutual development.
The Commerce Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that Minister Goyal’s meetings have been organized to facilitate high-impact interactions with senior government officials, industry leaders and business associations from both the countries. A key component of the visit will include one-on-one meetings with CEOs of leading German companies such as Schaeffler Group, Renk Vehicle Mobility Solutions, Herrenknecht AG, Infineon Technologies AG, Enertrag SE and Mercedes-Benz Group AG, the ministry said in a statement.
