New Delhi: The latest prices of petrol and diesel have been released on the second trading day of the week i.e. Tuesday. Currently, the impact of international fluctuations in crude oil is not visible on the Indian market and the rates remain stable.

There has been no major change in prices at the national level, but due to state-wise taxes, rates were different in many cities. Especially in metros, petrol has been recorded around or above Rs 100.

Delhi is the cheapest metropolis

Today petrol is available in Delhi at the rate of Rs 94.72 and diesel at Rs 87.62 per liter. The rates here are much cheaper than other big cities. At the same time, prices in Mumbai and Kolkata have remained above Rs 100, due to which consumer spending has increased.

Rate crosses 100 in Mumbai-Kolkata

In Mumbai, petrol is Rs 103.44 and diesel is Rs 89.97 per liter. In Kolkata, petrol has been recorded at Rs 104.95 and diesel at Rs 91.76. The increased VAT in these cities is affecting the pockets of consumers.

Prices high in Chennai also

In Chennai, petrol is available at Rs 100.75 and diesel at Rs 92.34 per liter. Here too, like other cities, an increase in prices is being seen due to the tax structure. In South India, these rates have a direct impact on the consumer budget.

Condition of major cities of northern states

In Lucknow, petrol is priced at Rs 94.65 and diesel at Rs 87.76, while in Noida petrol is priced at Rs 94.83 and diesel at Rs 87.96. Petrol is available at Rs 104.88 and diesel at Rs 90.36 per liter in Jaipur. In Gurugram petrol is recorded at Rs 95.19 and diesel at Rs 88.05.

Stability in other big cities

In Patna, petrol is priced at Rs 105.18 and diesel at Rs 92.04, which remain at high levels even today. In Bengaluru, petrol was recorded at Rs 102.86 and diesel at Rs 88.94. Overall, fuel prices are stable across the country, although there is slight variation between cities due to taxes.

Who decides the rates of petrol and diesel?

Fuel prices in India are determined by the central authority and any price is allowed taking into account various factors and the economic condition of the country. Diesel retailers and users have to strictly follow this. There are many factors that either bring down fuel prices or increase them.
