America’s Trump government is going to benefit big from the TikTok deal. Actually, under this deal, America will get fees of about 10 billion dollars from investors. Also, under the deal, the data of American users will also be safe. This claim has been made in American media reports.
American government got big benefit from the deal
TikTok’s parent company is Chinese company Byte Dance, but in January, after pressure from the US government, Byte Dance signed a deal with the American company to jointly run TikTok. Under this deal, the data of American users will be safe. TikTok has about 200 million users in America. US Vice President JD Vance had said last September that the value of the American company with the joint venture with the Chinese company would be around $14 billion.
Under the deal, American investors will pay $10 billion as fees to the Trump administration. American investors include Oracle and Silver Lake. Trump government officials say that this fee is justified because Trump played an important role in the negotiations with China in the acquisition of TikTok.
